Lafayette County Courthouse

Architect: Belinda Stewart Architects
Location: Oxford, MS

Built in 1872

The restored Lafayette County Courthouse is the centerpiece of the beautiful and historic town square of Oxford, MS, often featured in works by William Faulkner. This building serves as the circuit courtroom for the county, as well as government offices.

Our work included recommendations for modification of existing historic preservation design of the court room to revise acoustic finishes, speakers for communication systems, and HVAC ducting to address noise issues. Not all recommendations utilized.
