New Orleans Community Noise Study
Client: City of New Orleans
Location: New Orleans, LA
In an effort to revise the environmental ordinance as it relates to sound, the city commissioned a study to examine the current ordinance and the existing sonic conditions across the city, and make recommendations for revisions of the ordinance.
Our sound engineering work included environmental noise monitoring, testing of building facades for sound transfer, and categorizing sound sources by their signature and other characteristics. The development of enforcement techniques metrics (such as dBC) appropriate to the unique circumstances were created.
