Saint Dominic Chapel

Architect: Barlow Eddy Jenkins, PA
Location: Jackson, MS

Completed in 2012, this sanctuary is home to the Sisters of St. Dominic and utilized for prayer, meditation and memorial services. The building has been used by state and university directors for choral concerts, and appears in the book “20 years of Worship Spaces” published by the Acoustical Society of America.

Our work included design and technical recommendations for new construction with regard to noise, acoustics, and the sound system. Special considerations included highway noise concerns, mechanical systems, room acoustic requirements, and aural computer simulations using recordings of the users as a source.
