Elements of Theater Design

Your priorities are for the audience to intimately see and hear the artists performing in your venue; to have a place that the artists feel comfortable and unrestricted and invites the audience to engage and share the experience.

Our team of consultants experienced in theater design and lighting, as well as sound systems and acoustics, provides the guidance to ensure proper coordination and integration of the performance systems and architecture with the facility's functionality.

Roland, Woolworth & Associates works with architects and directly with clients on new construction, building conversions, and renovations. RWA determines the needs based on site visits, examination of plans and client interviews, and then articulates those needs to an architect, engineer, or contractor.
RWA examines all facets of the design of your facility to ensure maximum functionality:

Our services include:
  • Directing the Project: Adhering closely to the clients needs, RWA can drive the project from start to completion, working over or directly with an architect and following up construction to ensure a fully functional facility.

  • Recommendations: RWA can examine building plans to ensure adherence to the clients needs, and articulate those needs to the contractor or architect to ensure proper construction. For “in-house” contracting, recommendations can be tailored to the client's resources. The earlier we are involved in a project, the more effective we can be at realizing your needs on your budget.

  • Assessments: Facilities operating on smaller budgets can be assessed for renovations or improvements, and to determine the current state of a facility and its systems' integrated improvement plans can be executed in installments as funds are available, or used to solicit grants. Integrated improvement plans prevent conflict of performance system functionality and identify priorities for multiple phase construction
