Sustainability

Picture
Roland, Woolworth & Associates is committed to sustainability, personally and professionally, and we are excited to be part of the progress towards greener practices in the building industry. To us, this means reducing material and energy waste, focusing on quality design, and creating healthier buildings and happier occupants. Our team has direct experience in the design of projects with LEED certification.

Did you know that poor acoustics are consistently reported as the #1 source of user dissatisfaction in post-occupancy surveys for buildings  (green and otherwise)?

  • Good acoustics are achievable and can coexist with modern architecture trends and green construction
  • Good acoustics result in a building that is ultimately more functional and therefore, more sustainable

Sustainability is not mutually exclusive to productive work environments, free from acoustical fatigue. Careful planning and coordination can reduce the amount of material solutions and where they are needed, we are proficient in the design and recommendation of solutions from a vast library of green products. Additionally, we are experienced  in preparing and reviewing acoustical credits for LEED Certification.

Benefits of Integrated Design and Early Planning for Acoustics:
  • Improved productivity/value-added to occupied buildings
  • Improved Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)
  • Reduction of waste and building materials
  • Eliminate late and post-construction corrections
