Tallahatchie County Courthouse

Architect: Belinda Stewart Architects
Location: Sumner, MS
Built in 1909

The Tallahatchie County Courthouse hosts all county court activity, but is most notable as home of the 1955 civil rights case of the murder of Emmett Till. This fully functional courtroom successfully integrated modern technology with the historical aesthetic.

Our work included recommendations and cost estimates for historical/museum preservation effort including HVAC, noise control, acoustic/historic finishes, functionality concerns, and speaker recommendations for the communication system.
