Amanda Higbie holds a B.S. in Architectural Engineering from University of Texas at Austin. She began her career in the San Francisco Bay Area, gaining experience primarily in office and multi-family sound isolation, HVAC noise and vibration control, theater room acoustics, and environmental noise studies.
During Amanda's time with Charles Salter Associates, she was given many opportunities to work on high-end tech headquarters, such as Twitter and Uber, instilling an interest in workplace productivity. Through her work on these and other unique projects, Amanda developed a creative approach to office design featuring distinct focus and collaborative spaces, while continuing to address typical office issues such as speech privacy, sound-masking and conference room design. Additionally, Amanda has maintained a keen interest in historic preservation and sustainability throughout her studies and career. She was actively involved in the Bay Area USGBC, and created a webinar for the California Preservation Foundation addressing the unique acoustical issues of historic projects. She recently joined the board of MS USGBC as the Emerging Professionals Chair for 2015. |
